Self-pride in Al-Farazdaq's poetry
Abstract
Praise be to God, abundant, good, and blessed praise, as befits the majesty of His face and the greatness of His power. Now then... God has decreed and willed that my study be on subject of self-pride in Al-Farazdaq, in order to know a small part of poet's life, his collection of poems, his poems on pride, and what motives that led him to boast about himself, his tribe, and his religion.Study was divided into two sections. In first section, I addressed motives of pride in Al-Farazdaq, including psychological, tribal , religious , and military (enthusiastic) motives. As for the second section, I addressed images of self-pride, which are: (I) in Al-Farazdaq's pride, (we), and collective pride - we - in Islam. Research relied on most important sources, including: (Al-Farazdaq's Collection, Lisan Al-Arab, Al-Iqd Al-Farid... and others). I adopted integrated way for this research. I encountered some difficulties in finding some sources that fulfill purpose of research. In conclusion, I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who provided their sound opinions and played an important role in its completion. May Allah reward them on my behalf with the best reward and bless them in their work. I ask Allah for success.
