Abstract

The protection of the medical facilities is of particular importance during armed conflicts international humanitarian law has taken on this task, and it is noteworthy that the protection takes two forms, either direct protection when the rules address medical facilities and explicitly encourage its protection, or in an indirect protection as part of protecting medical objects in general. the obligation to respect and protect medical units is also addressed in the decisions of the General Assembly and security council of the United Nations. However, these medical facilities and its personnel has continued to subject to savage attacks and to be targeted during armed conflicts, Thus, this urges more efforts to provide better protection for these facilities and its medical staff.
