The role of the United Nations in the political process in Iraq
Abstract
The United Nations is an international organization with inherent competence in the exercise of the tasks of maintaining international peace and security. In this regard, it has the exclusive advantage of the use of armed force and other powers exercised in its own right. In this respect, the United Nations is engaged in post-conflict or post-occupation issues for the reconstruction of States, the United Nations has played this role since the beginning of the sixties, and the United Nations activity in this area is characterized by integration, as it works to rebuild the state in all its political, social, economic and cultural aspects according to the criteria. Which conforms to the requirements of modern political systems and is based on the foundations of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
