The role of the legislature in the face of corruption
Abstract
Undoubtedly, the SAIs have an important role to play in confronting corruption in all its forms. Among these organs is the legislative authority. In light of its legislative competence in accordance with the provisions of the 2005 Constitution, the House of Representatives can legislate laws to combat corruption or amend existing ones, The Council requires the government to be transparent and fair and to hold the corrupt accountable. In spite of the multiplicity of bodies and regulatory bodies, the corruption that has exacerbated the problems and crises and the poor economic and social conditions in the forefront of which is terrorism, violence, quotas and assault on the public money that has burdened the life of the Iraqis has become more and more frustrated by the growth of corruption, There is no doubt today that corruption in Iraq is an exotic and emergency situation that is not inherent in Iraqi society.
